Drone shoots need a bit more preparation than a standard photo shoot. Before the pilot can fly, we check that the mission is feasible and obtain any airspace authorization required by the FAA. Here's how it works, from request to delivery.
Step 1: Request your drone shoot
Just like a photo shoot, request your drone shoot directly from your Shoootin account or the mobile app. When you book, add the drone option and provide:
The flight area: mark the area to be flown over on the map.
Three possible dates: some locations require an FAA airspace authorization before the flight, so giving us three dates helps us schedule your shoot quickly.
The on-site contact and any information the pilot needs for the shoot to go smoothly.
Only complete requests can be processed, so make sure all the information is filled in.
Step 2: We review your request
We assess the feasibility of your request and get back to you. If you have anything to add, you can contact us directly at any time.
Step 3: Flight authorization
We check the airspace around your property. When an authorization is needed (for example near an airport or in controlled airspace), we request it from the FAA on your behalf. Authorization requests are free: there is no extra charge for this step.
Step 4: Shoot date and time
We agree on a date and time for the pilot's visit, based on your preferred dates and the authorization obtained.
Step 5: The shoot
The pilot goes on site and sends us the photos and footage the same day.
Step 6: Delivery
We deliver your edited photos within 24 hours and your video within 72 hours.
For drone videos, please send us everything we need for editing:
Logo: would you like your logo in the intro or outro? If so, send it in vector format (.ai or .psd).
Text: would you like to add up to three short sentences that appear during the video?
Music (optional): send us a royalty-free track at no extra charge, or ask our team about tracks from our music catalog.
